Di-neutron potential in the 6He+58Ni interaction

Abstract

The scientific initiation project of the student Gabriel de Souza Gonçalves aims to obtain the dineutron potential in the 58Ni target. To achieve this, new experimental data will be used for the 6He+58Ni and 4He+58Ni systems, in addition to data from the literature. Firstly, a global potential will be obtained for the interaction between the alpha particle and the 58Ni target in the energy range of interest. This potential will be incorporated into the calculation using a different approach to fit the optical model of the 6He+58Ni system. In this approach, the contributions of the fragment-target (4He+58Ni) and dineutron-target (2n+58Ni) will be calculated in a cluster model and, together, will describe the elastic scattering of the 6He nucleus on the 58Ni target. Only the unknown part of the dineutron-target potential will be adjusted. The calculations will be performed using the FRESCO code. We intend to observe specific characteristics of the halo 6He nucleus, which have already been observed for light targets, as well as obtaining information about the interaction potential of the dineutron with the target, which can be highly useful in coupled-channel, CDCC, and DWBA calculations.
