Abstract This project addresses a growing area in control research in recent years, the control ofnonlinear systems including state feedback with sampled data with a non uniform sam-pling. Due to the advantages presented in the literature, the nonlinear systems will bemodelled in a local sector by a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system. This approach willprovide an analysis of the system stability using the Lyapunov's direct method, and thusobtain design conditions in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The sampled-data control system will be addressed using an approach based on Lyapunov functionals,more specifically, based on time-dependent functionals and those known as looped func-tionals. On the other hand, recent results in the literature have illustrated that theswitched controller applied in T-S fuzzy systems can generate less conservative designconditions, especially if it is applied to systems with uncertain parameters. Therefore,the main contribution of this work will be to obtain less conservative design conditionsfor switched controllers that guarantee some performance conditions using a Lyapunovfunctional dependent on the membership functions. Moreover, it will be studied the con-text of uncertainties in the membership functions making its feedback impossible. Finally,the theoretical results will be validated in bench tests, for example, in a Quanser activesuspension system which is present in the LPC (Laboratório de Pesquisa em Controle -Control Research Laboratory) - FEIS - UNESP-Campus de Ilha Solteira.
