Abstract

Hegemonic capitalist agriculture has generated environmental, social, and economic problems, which have encouraged the search for agroecological alternatives. One of these systems is agroforestry, which stands out for increasing biodiversity related to food production through the use of specific techniques. One of the goals of alternative agricultural production methods is to ensure the autonomy of agroecosystems, without depending on impositions and external resources from the conventional agricultural model. Therefore, this study aims to analyze whether agroforestry systems linked to Cooperafloresta in São Paulo promote autonomy in agroecosystems. To achieve this, the Lume and Mesmis methodologies, which adopt parameters and criteria for analyzing the functioning of agroecosystems and guaranteeing autonomous use of the territory, including participatory approaches, will be combined.
