Abstract

The main objective of this project is to implement holographic algorithms for suspending and manipulating multiple particles in acoustic levitators consisting of arrays of ultrasonic transducers. The algorithm to be implemented should be able to calculate the emission phase of all transducers, allowing not only the levitation of multiple particles, but also the independent manipulation of each particle. In this project, the student will work with both the implementation of the algorithm and the experiments to suspend multiple particles, in which the algorithm will be applied to levitate and manipulate multiple expanded polystyrene particles in a controlled manner.
