Abstract

This research project proposes to develop and evaluate hybrid adaptive strategies for robotic walking rehabilitation, using Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) in conjunction with a lower limb exoskeleton. It is intended to develop an integrated robot/FES control system that will be used in association with variable impedance control of the exoskeleton to promote motor rehabilitation. Hybrid adaptive strategies will initially be evaluated considering knee joint movements and with healthy volunteers.
