Abstract

The project aims to develop a comparative analysis of adopters and non-adopters of digital technologies for managing beef cattle production in the state of São Paulo. The specific objectives are: i) describe the characteristics of the main Digital Farming technologies adopted by beef cattle farmers; ii) compare managerial, behavioral, structural, institutional and human/social capital variables of adopters and non-adopters of these technologies. Descriptive statistics methods and non-parametric statistical tests of hypotheses will be used to compare the characteristics of adopters and non-adopters of the digital technologies investigated in the field research. Cluster analysis and/or multiple correspondence methodologies to create levels of intensity in technology adoption and econometric regression models to identify the factors determining the adoption of digital technologies may also be applied. The expected results are: (i) systematization, organization and descriptive analysis of a database of beef cattle farms. (ii) Description of the characteristics of adopters and non-adopters of digital technologies for managing beef cattle production in the state of São Paulo. (iii) Description of the characteristics of digital technologies adopted by beef cattle farmers to manage their farms.
