Abstract

This project aims to analyze the production processes of Italian schoolbooks sent by Italy for circulation in Italian schools in São Paulo and Buenos Aires during the period of Benito Mussolini's government - 1922 to 1943. To this end, the Italian schoolbooks themselves will be used as sources, as well as documents that assist in the analysis of these in depth, such as consular and inspector reports, Italian circulars that indicated the use of the books and the legislation of the countries involved. For this, it is important to access the sources of research in the context of their production, Italy, and analyze them in the light of studies on Italian immigration processes and the production of schoolbooks. The theoretical perspective that will support this research is that of the transnational history of education and the methodology of document analysis. At the end of the research, it is expected that there will be a mapping of the titles that circulated in the cities analyzed, as well as an understanding of the role of schoolbooks in the circulation of fascist ideals beyond Italy.
