Abstract

Due to the indiscriminate use of broad-spectrum insecticides in agricultural production, thereis a great vulnerability of natural enemies to this type of exposure. Therefore, the search for more selective insecticides on these beneficialorganisms is necessary, and among the alternatives, we emphasize research that aims to evaluate the effects of these products on natural enemies. In Brazil, the active principle cyclaniliprole was recently released forproduction and commercialization, but there is still a lack of data on its effects and selectivity against these organisms. As they are predators in the larval stage with a wide variety of preys and high reproductive potential, green lacewings, among them Ceraeochrysa claveri, are excellent biological models for analyzing the toxicity and viability of their use associated with selective insecticides in crops thatprioritize the maintenance of biodiversity. Green lacewings occur in the entomofauna of many agricultural crops where the application of cyclaniliprole is recommended, therefore, in this project we intend to evaluate the occurrenceof histopathological symptoms present in internal organs such as the midgut and perivisceral fat body of larvae of C.claveri after ingestion of contaminated prey with cyclaniliprole atconcentrations corresponding to 10, 20 and 30% of the LC50 during the larval stage, as well as the occurrence of possible cytotoxic and cytoprotective responses in these organs. Through the morphological and ultrastructural analyzes that will be measured during the execution of theproject, we will be able to contribute with data that will indicate the possible perspective of the sustainable use and application of this insecticide with this natural enemy in different agroecosystems.
