Abstract

This research project explores the application of Management by Mission(MBM) at Sicredi Serrana, focusing on shared value generation, employeeengagement, and long-term financial returns. In a context of sustainability andinnovation pursuit, MBM represents an approach that values mission and sharedvalues to guide organizational culture. However, despite its theoretical promises, itlacks empirical evidence demonstrating its effectiveness in generating shared valueand organizational sustainability. The study employs an exploratory case studymethod, including semi-structured interviews with employees at different hierarchicallevels and an analysis of secondary sources, such as internal reports. The researchpropositions address the operationalization of the mission and values, identificationof barriers in MBM implementation, critical success factors, and an analysis oftangible and intangible impacts. Data analysis will involve coding and the use of theNvivo 10 platform. The results of this study will contribute not only to theunderstanding of MBM application but also to the broader theoretical field related toshared value generation, sustainability, and innovation. This project aims to fill a gapin the literature and provide insights for organizations interested in mission andshared values-oriented management approaches. A research report and at least onescientific article will be produced as the outcomes of this study.
