Abstract

This project aims to investigate the concept of teleology in Hegel's Science of Logic. It seeks to understand how Hegel elucidates the functioning of purpose within the concept, as well as its transformative potential. Alongside the philosopher's text and the literature on Hegel, we aim to examine the hypothesis that the category of teleology is not based on a fatalistic or predetermined conception but on a transfigurative speculative dimension in which purpose appears as both the engine and agency of the concept. In doing so, we seek to demonstrate that the category in question can be understood as a axis of actualization of the concept itself in connection with objectivity.
