Abstract

The research being carried out on Andean art and archaeology objects in the collections of São Paulo (process no.: 2023/09102-2 Linked to the JP2 Barroco-Açu project - FAPESP process no. 2021/06538-9) has shown, in a preliminary way, that Andean arts are made using diverse techniques and materials, giving rise to a wide range of artistic typologies that vary between regions and epochs. The aim of this BEPE is to contribute to expanding the knowledge and repertoire of Andean collections, enabling a deeper analysis and identification of the objects that are part of the collections that have been studied in Brazil. Throughout this BEPE, we intend to carry out a bibliographic survey of collection catalogs, exhibitions and documentation, and to conduct field research in selected museums, churches and chapels in the cities of Cuzco and Lima, where there are works and collections that are fundamental to the study of Andean American artistic production.
