Abstract The aim of this project is to analyze in detail the concept of irony in Kierkegaard's thought, a concept that is fundamental to understanding the role of language and hermeneutics in his work. To do this, it is essential to study these same concepts (irony, language, hermeneutics) as they were developed in German Romanticism, in particular by Friedrich Schleiermacher and Friedrich Schlegel. In fact, the Danish philosopher establishes, without telling his reader, but very consciously, a constant dialogue with the aforementioned authors, which manifests itself in the methodology he uses to tackle the tasks he faces: the interpretation of certain speeches or writings for which no fixed meaning can be determined and the role of irony in communication. | |
