Abstract

The present study is configured as a bibliographical analysis with the purpose of investigating and understanding the interactions between the degradation of the school climate and the increase in the manifestation of prejudice related to gender and sexuality among high school students in Brazilian educational institutions. With this aim, the aim is to carry out a comprehensive search in bibliographic databases, encompassing material published in the last thirty years in Portuguese and English. The scope of this review includes studies focused on the school experience of students belonging to social minority groups, as well as investigations thataddress the correlation between episodes of violence in the school environment and the challenges faced in the learning process by such students. Additionally, this literature review aims to analyze the links between the deterioration of the school climate and the increase in gender and sexuality intolerance observed in schools. From this endeavor, the aim is to achieve a more in-depth understanding of the connections between the school environment, the phenomenon of violence and the difficultiesacademic challenges faced by students belonging to minority groups who experience gender and sexuality discrimination in educational institutions.
