Abstract

The genus Pseudopaludicola, which comprises 26 species, has a wide distribution in South America, especially in Brazil (center and northeast). This genus, included in the Leptodactylidae family, presents species that are very similar to each other, with some problems for intraspecific separation and uncertainty in the position of species. In this sense, based on molecular tests on biological tissue samples, the existence of a new species of Pseudopaludicola was verified among individuals of Pseudopaludicola restinga, collected in Espírito Santo, in the municipality of Ibitirama. Therefore, the present project aims to confirm the veracity of the new species. To this end, morphological analyzes will be carried out, such as morphometry of the organism, aiming to describe the species collected in ES and compare it with other congeners.
