Abstract

The general aim of this research is to develop and apply a methodology for collecting and analyzing data on the relationship between biodiversity and climate in traditional communities in the Cuieras and Araguaia river basins, through the use of field diaries and the development and application of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with riverine populations as representatives of traditional populations in the Amazon region. The results will be analyzed and discussed using discourse analysis techniques in an attempt to identify the existing discourse typologies and the environmental action plans being developed in the region. The interpretation of the results will be based on references from Maturana's Biology of Knowing, Peircean Semiotics and Bachelard's Epistemology. The main focus of the research is to strengthen the role of the peoples of the Amazon as protagonists of knowledge about biodiversity and climate action.
