Abstract

This scientific initiation project aims to understand the appropriations of the concept of decoloniality by Brazilian mathematics educators in their research in the field of Ethnomathematics. The methodology is qualitative and is based on the development of a State of Knowledge on Mathematics Education research that focuses on the relationships between decoloniality and Ethnomathematics. The investigation assumes events, periodicals and banks of theses and dissertations as search assumptions and the categories of analysis will be defined a posteriori as reflections on the research are made. The results of this research may indicate the way in which mathematics educators are relating decolonial discussions with the Ethnomathematics Program, which theoretical contributions were chosen, which concepts about decoloniality were assumed, which distances were made and which gaps still exist in the research on Ethnomathematics that they assume. decoloniality as an epistemic, theoretical and/or methodological assumption.
