Abstract

Due to the large number of landslides that have occurred in recent decades and their devastating effects on society, hazard and vulnerability maps have become essential tools for reducing such damage. However, there is a lack of detailed hazard maps. Therefore, this research aims to quantitatively assess the hazard of exposed elements to landslides in the municipality of São Sebastião, located on the north coast of São Paulo State. To achieve this, we will use a mathematical model to map shallow landslide susceptibility, map exposed elements through 2022 land cover and use maps, and identify runout. These methods will allow us to produce detailed maps of the elements exposed to landslide hazards in São Sebastião, which will contribute to the prevention and management of landslide risks.
