Abstract

The aim of this project is the production of scientific dissemination texts about the research and the educational activities carried out by researchers from the Research Center of Redox Processes in Biomedicine - RIDC Redoxoma, based in the Instituto de Química, Universidade de São Paulo. The texts produced will be published on Redoxoma's social networks and sent as press releases.CEPID Redoxoma is a network composed of 30 research groups, that investigate redox mechanisms relevant to cellular homeostasis and pathologies, with an emphasis on degenerative human diseases, such as cardiovascular, metabolic, and infectious/inflammatory diseases, as well as those dependent on the environment. The transfer of scientific results to society, through educational and scientific dissemination activities, is also part of Redoxoma's mission. Furthermore, whenever possible the research results and scientific knowledge are transferred to the private sector through patents, partnerships with companies, and promotion of start-ups.Considering the scope of health-related phenomena based on redox processes, the quality of the research carried out by Redoxoma members, and the increased interest people have in this topics, the scientific dissemination of RIDC Redoxoma is of great relevance. The dissemination of basic science, as is the case with much of the research carried out by Redoxoma scientists, is a constant challenge for the journalist/publisher. It demands in-depth study of the topics covered in scientific articles and care not to lose precision when making the text understandable to a wider audience. This is the focus of this project, based on the scholarship candidate's previous experience.
