Abstract

Food consumption is directly linked to the expectations associated with the desired outcome of strength training. In a scenario where there is overestimation and/or underestimation of certain macronutrients, the energy intake of proteins and carbohydrates is analyzed to determine whether it is adequate for the set goals. In the context where some strength training practitioners create their own meal plans without professional guidance, the study examines whether their energy intake meets the necessary values to achieve hypertrophy. This project aims to explore the impact of these expectations on the regulation of energy consumption in these individuals, providing important insights into the relationship between increased training volume and diet.Twenty men aged 18 to 40 will be recruited. Participants will undergo a remote training and food diary monitoring period for four weeks. Tests will be conducted in weeks 5, 10, and 15 of the monitoring period, and diet and training will be tracked throughout the study.
