Abstract

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is one of the leading causes of severe respiratory diseases in children under 5 years of age. In 2015, RSV was responsible for approximately 3.2 million pediatric hospitalizations worldwide. Moreover, there is no effective medication or vaccine against RSV. Therefore, the goal of this project is to analyse the transcriptome to find the lncRNA that is responsive to the RSV and identify its potential lncRNA-protein interaction networks. The BEAS-2B cell model infected with RSV will be used at different RSV titers to mimic severe and mild infections, to investigate possible associations between lncRNAs and the clinical progression of patients infected with RSV.
