Abstract

Introduction: The Central Auditory Nervous System (CANS) possesses various abilities, including auditory discrimination, auditory temporal processing, and binaural processing. Binaural processing encompasses the localization and spatial lateralization of sounds, as well as auditory performance with competitive or degraded sounds, which are crucial in the school context where children must navigate an environment filled with auditory competition distributed around them. Objective: The aim of this study is to standardize the Listening in Spatialized Noise-Universal (LISN-U) Test for speakers of Brazilian Portuguese. Method: This study will involve 50 subjects, with an equal representation of both genders. The subjects will be individually evaluated after meeting the inclusion criteria. Eligible participants will undergo the LISN-U test, which will be explained and demonstrated using the practice phase. The obtained Speech Reception Thresholds (SRTs) will be recorded and calculated, followed by statistical analysis.
