Abstract

The immune system is influenced by the stage of life and lifestyle of the individual. Immunosenescence is a physiological process that can lead to structural and functional changes in the immune system. Practicing physical exercise is an external factor to the inevitable internal process of aging by the immune system, which is capable of generating changes in its functioning. T and B Lymphocytes and iNKT cells, are some of the components of the adaptive immune system and, therefore, can undergo changes in these factors. Thus, elderly individuals who practice physical exercise may present changes when these factors cross intersect. Thereby, the phenotype evaluation of T and B lymphocytes and iNKT cells by flow cytometry and miRNA expression by gene expression experiments can generate important information to the analysis of the immune system while undergoing the process of immunosenescence influenced by the practice of physical exercise, which is the aim of this project.
