Abstract

Introduction: It is necessary to emphasize that we are still in the midst of the HIV epidemic, with prevention of infection being a major global health challenge. Approximately 40 years after the first cases of HIV, there are countless advances in scientific knowledge that make it possible to identify the virus, produce diagnostic technologies such as rapid tests and powerful treatments for individuals living with the infection. This investigation maintains alignment with the objectives and commitments assumed in controlling the epidemic, in terms of offering access to prevention for populations on the outskirts of cities who are at high risk of HIV infection. It chooses as a guiding question how we can present and offer, "what works" in prevention for people living in conditions of social vulnerability on the outskirts of cities? Objectives: 1) understand the needs and challenges faced by the community regarding HIV prevention; 2) identify research results on the effectiveness of sexually transmitted infections/HIV prevention actions; 3) examine the barriers and facilitators that affect the adoption and widespread use of HIV prevention practices and; whether successful or unsuccessful. Method: Implementation, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). São Paulo, with a 36-month proposal and participation of 30 municipalities in the state of São Paulo. It considers five phases: 1) Planning the implementation strategy; 2) Characterization through an electronic questionnaire; 3) Preliminary implementation; 4) Semi-structured interviews with managers, state and municipal workers in the state of São Paulo and the population living in the municipalities involved with the project; 5) Final implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Expected results: implementation of actions to prevent sexually transmitted infections; production of a synthesis of scientific literature review of evidence on prevention practices regarding their effectiveness and elaborated #PartiuPrevPerifa manual (e-book and physical), made available to ESP municipalities, in different formats for disseminating scientific production. Keywords: prevention, HIV, sexually transmitted infections, implementation science.
