Abstract Title: Beyond mean-field non-linear excitations in dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates.In this proposal, our objective is to develop numerical simulations following analytical studies for ultracold dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates, considering the dynamics associated with the creation of quantum vortices and anti-vortices, with possible quantum turbulence. Within Gross-Pitaevskii's quasi-two-dimensional formalisms, these studies must follow a sequence of investigations carried out previously, over the 15 months of the postdoctoral project 2020/02185-1. We highlight that, as a result of this project, three regular works were published in specialized indexed journals [Physics Letters A, Physical Review A, and Few-body Systems], in addition to having two contributions related to participation in international conferences [Journal of Physics Conference series and Springer Proceedings]. Following studies on the generation of vortices and quantum turbulence by periodic external interaction, we intend to investigate more deeply, through analytical and computational methods, the associated critical velocities of the externally applied potential and the dynamics of the vortices generated in the fluid. In this regard, it will be investigated the dependence of the critical velocities and vortex dynamics on the intrinsic parameters of the atoms involved, as well as on the external parameters related to time-dependent interactions applied to the system. Additional effects due to nonlinear quantum fluctuations should also be investigated. Particularly, we are interested in dipolar atomic and molecular systems in our next analyses, given the recent interest verified in cold atom laboratories, as such studies can improve our understanding of fundamental quantum processes such as superfluidity. Beyond the production of Bose-Einstein condensates with various atomic species, through techniques already well known in cold atom laboratories, studies with dipolar atoms have provided new lines of investigation, with greater possibilities for controlling and manipulating their properties, as well as the production of molecular condensates with mixtures of atomic species.IMPORTANT: We want to clarify that the project is in continuity with project 2020/02185-1 ("Angular Momentum Dynamics in Two-Component Bose Gases with Long Range Interactions"), completed on 07/31/2023 with only 15 months of execution due to its budgetary link with thematic 2017/05660-0, completed on the same date. In this proposal, we have a renewed project, in which we highlight topics not included in the previous project, as well as new objectives considering the interest in the area. The Project is also in line with the objectives of a new thematic project that is being submitted to Fapesp, under the coordination of Prof. Arnaldo Gammal. | |
