Abstract

Climate change has been related to pattern changes in the occurrence of several diseases. Recentstudies indicates that, in the next decades, diseases typical from tropical areas such as dengue andzika will be present in the Europe. The expansion in the area of occurrence of these diseases isconsequence of the expansion of vectors´ ecological niches. The increase in the number ofinfections around the world and the excessive use of medicines may result in the establishment ofmore resistant strains.Brazil is a continental country and the climate changes have been noted in the past years. Thesouth and southeast regions have registered an increase in average temperature and extreme eventsof drought, rain and heat. As consequence of these climate changes, is expected the expansion inthe occurrence area of diseases, such as malaria, arboviruses and hantaviruses. This research aims to create an organized database based on meteorological data and the occurrence of microbial diseases in Brazil.
