Abstract

Environmental processes, including galaxy-galaxy interactions and interactions with the intergalactic medium, significantly impact galaxy evolution. Understanding these processes requires studying different environments. Particularly galaxy groups are the most common galaxy environment in the local universe. These groups serve as ideal environments to understand pre-processing and morphological transformations. This project focuses on analyzing galaxy groups from the 2PICC and G3Cv1 catalogs. We will investigate galaxy morphology using both parametric and non-parametric methods, alongside star formation history through SED fitting with data from the Southern Photometric Local Universe Survey. By comparing the properties of galaxies across different environments - including compact groups and field galaxies - this study aims to elucidate the role of low-mass structures in galaxy evolution. Thus, this will enhance our understanding of the processes driving galaxy transformation across varied environments.
