Abstract

Clinical reasoning is the foundation for accurate and effective clinical decision-making. In interprofessional work, clinical reasoning acquires a collaborative nature, involving cooperation among professionals from different fields and allowing a multifaceted view of health problems to promote comprehensive care. The Institute of Medical Education Research Rotterdam (iMERR) at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands, has some of the leading experts in the field of Clinical Reasoning, one of the leading research topics conducted at the institution. This project for an International Research Internship aims to develop and validate, together with specialists, an instrument (guide) for identifying distractors in collaborative clinical reasoning within interprofessional work. The internship will take two months and twenty days at iMERR, in cooperation and co-authorship with the clinical reasoning research group. This is a methodological study divided into two stages: construction - scoping review and material development, under the guidance of clinical reasoning experts at the institution - and validation through review by a committee of specialists. As the committee includes Brazilian researchers, the material will be translated and validated for the national context. The final results will be presented in descriptive reports, tables, and graphs, where the pre-final version of the instrument will be structured.
