Abstract

The use of renewable materials, such as wood and engineered wood products, has increased, making buildings more sustainable, with lower energy consumption in their production compared to other materials for structural purposes. Timber-Concrete Systems, or TCC, are made up of an upper part, with concrete, offering resistance to compression, and a lower part, with wood, resistant to tension and bending. Therefore, as a composite material, it is important to consider how slip occurs at the interface between the concrete and wood layers, a key factor for the composite to have satisfactory behavior. It is also important to know how engineered wood-based products behave, such as glued laminated wood (LVL) in the TCC system, such as support for reinforced concrete slabs. Therefore, the present work aims to evaluate, numerically, the connection between LVL (wood) plates in wood-concrete composite structures using notches, varying their size and distribution.
