Abstract

The wood products or engeneered products has become an interesting alternative to substitute solid wood in many applications, both for structural elements as components of the building, the furniture industry and the packaging industry. Adding to this growing technological development, it comes the need for rational use of raw materials, seeking different ways to almost full utilization of industrially processed wood. However, from the different types of panels produced, the formation of waste is part of the process and even the process is very technological, it does form losses of raw material. Searching take advantage of waste generated in the lamination process of the logs, this proposal arises and it aims use waste from the wood lamination, like pieces of blades, broken blades, blades rough, cracked blades for panel production OSB (Oriented Strand Board), OSL (Oriented Strand Lumber) and LSL (Laminated Strand Lumber). OSB, LSL and OSL panels are produced from wood chips that can be proceeding from the waste, and with the use of adhesive it can get a panel for structural use. Besides the use of waste, the work seeks alternatives to the use of the adhesive, because today the industry uses formaldehyde-based adhesives, that over the pressing, it ends up sending large amounts of formaldehyde, being very aggressive to humans and the environment. The panels produced will be characterized by physical and mechanical tests according to specifications of European Standard (EN).
