Abstract

This study proposes the depolymerization of lignin (LDP) via electrochemical reduction, aiming at the formation of phenolic fragments. The subsequent Birch reduction, also carried out in an electrochemical cell, will promote the production of substituted cyclohexenones. Both steps will be evaluated both in batch and continuous flow regime, valuable intermediates in organic synthesis and for the chemical industry.
