Abstract

The present IC- Research Internship Abroad (IC - BEPE FAPESP) project aims to realize and learn thestate-of-the-art of magnetic measurements under simultaneous extreme conditions (ultra low-temperaturesT, high pressures p, and high magnetic fields B) in a Swiss high-performance laboratory: the Laboratoryfor Quantum Magnetism at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (LQM-EPFL). With the use oflaboratory infrastructure in LQM-EPFL under the supervision of Dr. Ivica Zivkovick and Prof. HenrikM. Rønnow, the Intern aims to fabricate an advanced home-built miniaturized susceptometer to place intohigh-pressure CuBe clamp cell (see FAPESP process number 2023/08343-6).The Intern will also profit from learning new work strategies when she interacts with the research groupheaded by Prof. H. M. Rønnow. The new know-how and professional environment will synergistically addhard and soft skills to the Intern who already started her IC project in the Laboratory for Quantum Matterunder Extreme Conditions at the University of São Paulo (LQMEC-USP), headed by her supervisor, Prof.Julio Larrea. In particular, she will focus on the construction of a miniaturized susceptometer to realizemagnetic measurements inside a CuBe high-pressure cell apparatus with the aim to investigate the experimentalT Àý p Àý B phase diagram under extreme conditions of FeGa3 in presence of Fe antisite disorder.Last but not least, this BEPE-FAPESP internship will help the intern to gain scientific experience towork with high-qualified and competent scientific staff in LQM-EPFL, bringing to our LQMEC lab SãoPaulo her know-how on new experimental methods.
