Abstract

Changes in the terrestrial landscape can significantly impact the flows and values of ecosystem services. In order to analyze these values, models such as InVest are useful for various segments of society, allowing the assessment of the impact of changes in the extractive exploitation matrix to the establishment of forests in agricultural areas, such as permanent preservation areas (APPs) and legal reserves. The information generated by InVest provides support for more appropriate management of river basins and contributes to the implementation of payment for environmental services (PES) schemes, identifying areas that provide and benefit from ecosystem services. These models represent both the supply of services and the location and activities of the people who benefit from them. In this context, this study aims to evaluate human interactions with the environment, more specifically in relation to the ecosystem services provided to society by the environment, using the InVest software in the city of Campinas/SP. The municipality of Campinas is composed of 6 hydrographic basins, and part I of this work will be developed in green areas already cataloged in the municipality. The evaluation will be done through bibliographic survey and analysis of the application of software; the indicators will be collected in the field and in existing databases in the municipality. The aim is to provide technical support for the establishment of public policies that point to conservation management of these areas.
