Abstract

This research project abroad (BEPE) consists of conducting a period of research in the libraries, museums and archives located at the university center of the University of Bayreuth, with the aim of collecting, studying and reviewing data that will allow a deeper understanding of Algeria's social and political history, on the Algerian feminist movements and especially on the critical fortune of the authors analyzed, since they are particularly difficult to access in Brazil. In the context of a main project, we will compare the works Vaste est la prison by Assia Djebar and La jeune fille au balcon by Leila Sebbar to reflect on the formation of the multiple identities of Algerian women through literary bias. Comparative literature will play an important role in this research, acting as a mediator of what we call literary representation. By comparing issues such as the historical context, the role of religion and the role of women in narratives, it will be possible to trace different perspectives and approaches on women's writing in Algeria.
