Abstract

This activity plan aims to develop new solid forms of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in the antihypertensive class, seeking to improve the physicochemical properties demonstrated by these APIs, such as solubility, permeability and hygroscopicity. In this way, new solid forms of some drugs will be used, such as hydralazine and furosemide, which will be characterized using single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction techniques, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, Raman spectroscopy and electronic spectroscopy. . In this way, the intern will monitor activities related to the development of ongoing research in the laboratory, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Javier Ellena from the São Carlos Institute of Physics at the University of São Paulo (IFSC-USP).From the work carried out in the laboratory, the intern is expected to gain experience within a crystallography laboratory, being able to improve their knowledge about characterization techniques that are used to understand the properties of different types of materials.
