Abstract

Despite ongoing efforts to understand museum environments, few examples have been produced in the field of Architecture that effectively, from a methodological point of view, point the way towards elements of identity between exhibition, public and museum object, mobilizing bonds of affection and relationships of belonging. The difficulty of applying such consistent methodological instruments by the agents involved in the use and operation has reflected this situation, valuing primarily only the administrative stages, forgetting the conception and satisfaction of users within the museum. This research proposal aims to conduct a Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) to discover the level of satisfaction of users in relation to the appropriation and feeling of belonging of the Bauru Railway Museum. It seeks to point out recommendations and spatial guidelines that can requalify the use, making them comfortable, adequate and functional for mediation and cultural action actions within the scope of museum environments. Finally, the work aims to assist in the elaboration of architectural guidelines for São Paulo railway museums in case studies to be incorporated into the current FAPESP-funded project of the Railway Memory Group, called "Transportation production systems: multidisciplinary methodologies in the history of transportation and industrial heritage (Process: 2022/15050-2)".
