Abstract

Considering that we currently live in a time of climate change, extreme events with high impact and the natural disasters associated with these conditions directly affect the population in several aspects (areas). Therefore, the regionalized study of their occurrences and impacts is of great value to the general public, as well as to decision makers. Natural disasters and their association with meteorological disasters have been increasingly trained, understanding this relationship is directly linked to the ability to forecast these events and thus minimize their impacts. In this context, this project focuses on identifying and quantifying the meteorological systems associated with natural disasters in 2019 cataloged in the natural disaster database from IPMet (Cento de Meteorologia de Bauru). This database was prepared based on occurrence records from the civil defense of the state of São Paulo and on the analysis of synoptic conditions was performed. The characterization of the station aims to establish a reliable collection of occurrences that represent the atmospheric patterns that act in the state of São Paulo. The identification of meteorological systems will be done based on the spatial pattern of atmospheric variables using data from the ERA5 reanalysis, data from meteorological stations, data from IPMet meteorological radars and data from the GOES-16 satellite.
