Abstract

There is an extent critical tradition regarding Wuthering Height, which includes feminist, even marxist critique. However, for a long time, queer readings of the novel remained sparse, despite being a narrative with several subversive aspects such as androgyny, preference for sameness over difference and rejection of tradition. This project, therefore, aims to analyze Wuthering Heights through a queer lens, reinterpreting two pilars of the novel: androgynous doubles and the spaces of the two properties.
