Abstract

Introduction: People with chronic illnesses generally have a lower quality of life compared to healthy individuals. In the case of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which has been increasing significantly worldwide, this situation is also evident. This is due to the various limitations that this condition imposes on affected individuals, impacting them both physically and emotionally, thus affecting the overall health of the person. Objective: To analyze the quality of life of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease in stages 3 and 4 using the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Method: This is an observational study. It will include patients aged 18 to 70 years, diagnosed with CKD in stages 3 and 4 (eGFR: 45-59 mL/min/1.73 m² and 15-29 mL/min/1.73 m²) who have signed the Informed Consent Form. The quality of life questionnaire was validated in Brazil and translated into Brazilian Portuguese by a group of researchers from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in the 1990s and will be applied at the Nephrology Department of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of São Paulo.
