Abstract

The Primeiros Laços program consists of home visits aimed at pregnant adolescents in situations of social vulnerability. Although it has shown good results in the city of São Paulo, methodological adjustments are necessary to enable its large-scale implementation in Primary Health Care. The objective of this study will be to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of implementing *Primeiros Laços* in Indaiatuba. To achieve this, a study with a hybrid type II design will be conducted, allowing for the evaluation of both the effectiveness and the feasibility of implementing the program in Primary Health Care. Effectiveness will be investigated through a randomized, single-blind controlled clinical trial, while feasibility will be examined using the EPIS framework (Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, and Sustainability). It is expected to include about 200 participants, aged between 14 and 20 years, with up to 20 weeks of pregnancy, who will be randomly assigned to either the intervention or control groups. The intervention group will receive 40 home visits from trained nurses, covering topics such as bonding, attachment, social support networks, breastfeeding, contraceptive methods, child development, non-violent education, among others. The control group will continue with regular care at Basic Health Units. It is expected that mothers and babies in the intervention group will show better physical and mental health outcomes, such as higher prevalence of breastfeeding and better cognitive development, lower rates of hospitalization for respiratory infections, and greater maternal sensitivity. Keywords: home visits, pediatric nursing, pregnant women, adolescent mothers, child development.
