Abstract

The development of effective diagnostic tools is urgently needed to improve the diagnosis and control of avian infections. In this context, this research project aims to develop a diagnostic strategy based on a point-of-care (POC) system for the detection of avian infections, using a two-step approach, combining the LAMP/RPA and NALFIA techniques. Initially, specific primers will be designed for one or two viral species responsible for avian respiratory diseases. The primers developed for LAMP and RPA will be compared, and those that present greater sensitivity and specificity will be selected for the next step. In the second phase of the study, the selected primers will be synthesized with the addition of biotin, digoxigenin and fluorescein groups, allowing the amplicons generated in the LAMP/RPA step to be captured and identified on the immunochromatographic test strip (NALFIA). Therefore, it is expected that this strategy will enable the rapid and efficient detection of avian infections, contributing to epidemiological monitoring and reducing dependence on complex laboratory techniques.
