Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the coverage of eSports in different newspaper sections in Barcelona, while also examining the characteristics that each journalistic section brings to the dissemination of digital sports. The methodologies to be used include bibliographic research, through a theoretical review on the subject, journalistic specialization in eSports, and using articles from the newspapers El Periódico and Mundo Deportivo as search tools. Interviews with participant observation will also be conducted, contributing to the qualitative approach of the research. As a result of the study, it is expected to identify the news values used to specialize the coverage of eSports within consolidated sections of Barcelona's media, as well as to assess the potential creation of a specific section for eSports journalism.
