Abstract

The inadequate and intense use of natural resources, driven by economic growth and unbridled consumption, has had significant environmental impacts over time, highlighting the need to adopt more sustainable management practices and mitigate the respective environmental impacts in land use planning. In this sense, the core purpose of the research will be based on assessing the levels of environmental fragility in the municipality of Marília, São Paulo, Brazil, through the process of spatial analysis of integration between physical and anthropic factors, with the aim of contributing to environmental planning and its articulation with territorial planning, since it will make it possible to identify areas most susceptible to degradation of environmental quality, guiding interventions that minimize the respective impacts and promote the coherent use of natural resources. The methodological procedure, i.e. the materials and methods that will be used, will be based on a descriptive-exploratory objective, with a qualitative-quantitative approach and a strategic purpose, in which the Ross method (1994) will be used, with the appropriate adjustments or additions, to carry out the process of evaluating the research area. Thus, the results obtained in this application will be analyzed through a set of textual productions, which will be duly related to the creation of maps, tables, charts, graphs and other visual tools. Due to the theme adopted and the methodological procedure, the research will be linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, such as Sustainable Cities (SDG 11), Action Against Global Climate Change (SDG 13) and Life on Land (SDG 15).Keywords: Environmental fragility.
