Abstract

The use of plants in the pharmaceutical field has been increasing in recent years, being combined with pharmaceutical structures and technologies, such as nanotechnology, with the aim of improving treatments and making them more effective. In this context, niosomes are widely used due to their ability to carry substances with different polarity characteristics. For wound treatment, the combination of these structures with natural extracts, such as Spondias mombin L., can support the targeted delivery of compounds more effectively. Accordingly, the present project proposes conducting tests with niosomes containing extract from the seed of Spondias mombin L. The niosomes will be prepared using the thin-film hydration method and evaluated for their morphological characteristics, including size distribution, zeta potential, encapsulation efficiency, and release profile. These tests aim to assess the potential use of the extract in combination with niosomes for the treatment of chronic wounds, contributing to the healing process. (AU)
