Abstract

The increasing insertion of electric vehicle chargers (EVCs) in low-voltage distribution networks has led to problems related to power quality, mostly related to the switched operation of the embedded power electronics. In particular, even if different filtering stages are employed in the power electronics circuits of such EVCs, these filters can interact with the line impedances, as well as with devices connected in parallel to the charger, resulting in harmonic interactions that can intensify and/or create resonance conditions. In view of this, this proposal aims to develop and analyze the model of a three-phase Vienna rectifier converter, implementing it computationally, in order to evaluate the impact of its connection to a low-voltage grid. Furthermore, we intend to study the harmonic interactions between its filters and grid impedances, as well as the effects of a possible parallel operation of EVCs. (AU)
