Abstract

This research project aims to conduct a systematic literature review on the concept of personality in the works of Brazilian researchers that adopt the Historical-Cultural Theory as a theoretical framework. Despite the concept's relevance to psychology and, especially, to the Historical-Cultural Theory, there is an absence of studies that aim to organize and comprehend how the notion of personality has been understood and applied in this field in Brazil, a fact that may be problematic, as a partial apprehension and application of the concept can lead to serious distortions. Moreover, a plurality of visions in regard to the theme can be noted on the Soviet researchers that act as a basis for the theory, so we must be able to describe which ideas of personality are more present in national literature. And as a means to fill those gaps in the knowledge, propose to survey and analyze Brazilian theses and dissertations that address the theme from the historical-cultural perspective. (AU)
