Abstract

This project investigates the electrical properties of polymer thin films containing metallic nanoparticles with controlled implantation depth, targeting applications in sensors and memristors. We combine layer-by-layer (LbL) polymer assembly with gas-phase nanoparticle deposition to create hybrid materials with tunable architectures. This methodology enables precise control over nanoparticle size, composition, and depth distribution within the polymer matrix. Key objectives include: (1) structural characterization of nanoparticle dispersion using electron microscopy, (2) electrical measurements to analyze charge transport mechanisms, and (3) evaluation of memristive behavior and sensing potential. The research focuses on nanoparticle-polymer interactions, particularly how implantation depth influences electrical response. Expected outcomes include optimized fabrication protocols for resistive switching devices and fundamental advances in understanding metal-polymer nanocomposites. Bridging materials science and nanoelectronics, this work may contribute to developing flexible sensors and bioinspired adaptive electronic systems. (AU)
