Abstract

This project proposes an international research internship aimed at the methodological enhancement of the investigation currently being conducted in Brazil, at the University of São Paulo with the support of FAPESP (Grant No. 2024/08196-6). The central objective of the internship is to deepen the mastery of quantitative methods and multiple techniques designed for analyzing policy effects, through the supervision of Professor Patrick Cunha Silva, a faculty member and researcher in methodology and comparative politics. The internship will contribute to the development of the regression models to be used in understanding the determinants of student migration, thereby refining the empirical design of the project in Brazil. Furthermore, the plan includes discussions with the supervisor, the production of reproducible scripts in R, learning markup language (LaTeX), and possible participation in an international conference during the internship period. The BEPE (Bolsa Estágio de Pesquisa no Exterior), therefore, will be basically methodological, solidifying the analytical capacity, replicability, and scientific dissemination of the main project.
