Abstract

This project presents a new approach to the transmission network expansion planning problem using reliability-based optimization concepts. With this approach, it is possible to establish equilibrium between high reliability and low transmission investment cost. Note that these two objectives are conflicting, therefore, they must be considered jointly in the decision making process, with the aim of obtaining optimal solutions for both of them. (AU)
