Abstract

Plants are an important source of bioactive natural products showing several pharmacological activities including antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and anti-parasitic. The present work aiming to evaluate the therapeutically potential of Baccharis uncinella, specie belonged to Asteraceae family, in the treatment of leishmaniosis and Chagas' disease. In this way crude extracts will be submitted to diverse steps of chromatography in order to isolate the active compounds. So these compounds will be evaluated to promastigotes forms of Leishmania chagasi and trypomastigotes forms of Trypanossoma cruzi using in vitro assays. Additionally, the cytoxicities will be evaluated using in vitro assays against to mammalian cells. The isolation and identification of the active compounds will be conducing using several chromatographic and spectrometric steps.
