Abstract

This project is a part of a broader project, De volta ao Crátilo (FAPESP 2005/04410-5), submitted and approved for 2006-2007. This broader project is divided into two parts: a) manually encoding Plato`s Cratylus from English into the Universal Networking Language (UNL); and b) automatically decoding the resulting UNL graph onto Brazilian Portuguese. In order to accomplish this second part, the project requires the development of the corresponding computational linguistic resources (namely the UNL-Portuguese dictionary and generation grammar). The present project is dedicated to building the UNL-PT dictionary, according to the UNDL Foundation standards and protocols.
